NUST Makes Debut in THE Ranking-2015
National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has made its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) annual ranking list 2015 of the Top 100 Universities from BRICS and Emerging Economies and has been ranked # 95. Fifteen universities from Chile, China, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia and Turkey have entered the tables for the first time. The THE uses the trusted and comprehensive range of 13 separate rigorous performance indicators, examining each university’s strengths against all of its core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Some 22 countries classified as emerging economies by Financial Time Stock Exchange (FTSE) have been analyzed; which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. This achievement speaks volumes of the hard work put in by the NUST management and faculty in terms of developing the University for competing internationally for the criteria used for ranking. While NUST management and faculty praise Allah, the Almighty, for bestowing this unique honour, the nation can take pride in its own university, the NUST.
